01讲座摘要
Algorithms have been inspired by nature and human life and have been a part of human technology ever since the stone stage.As the computers have been widely used for solving everyday human problems, algorithms are fast-evolving and it becomes naturally to think algorithmically about the human and nature world. In this talk,I would like to provide a humble and immature view of human and social nature in algorithms.In particular,I would like to bridge the connections between the fundamental principle and properties of these algorithms and the nature in Chinese culture,such as I-ching and Daoism, which conceive the natural world as a self-generating, complex arrangement of elements continuously changing and interacting. For example, the balance principle in I-Ching is frequently observed in algorithm design, such as the explore/exploit tradeoff for finding the balance between trying new things and enjoying the favorites and the balance between recall and precision.
02 嘉宾简介
熊辉教授现为香港科学技术大学（广州）讲席教授（Chair Professor）；曾担任美国罗格斯－新泽西州立大学杰出教授 (Distinguished Professor)、RBS院长讲席教授；学术休假期间担任百度研究院副院长并主管5个实验室。熊辉教授主要研究领域涵盖数据挖掘、商业智能、以及人力资源大数据。他获得的部分荣誉包括AAAS Fellow、IEEE Fellow、ACM杰出科学家、中国教育部长江讲座教授、中国国家基金委海外杰青B类（海外及港澳学者合作研究基金）、哈佛商业评论2018年“拉姆.查兰管理实践奖”-全场大奖、2017 IEEE ICDM Outstanding Service Award、ICDM-2011最佳研究论文奖、和AAAI-2021最佳论文奖。熊辉教授是Encyclopedia of GIS (Springer)的共同主编，ACM SIGKDD Secretary、ACM Transactions on Knowledge Discovery from Data(TKDD)和ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems (TMIS)的编委。曾担任ACM KDD 2012企业及政府专题的共同程序委员会主席、IEEE ICDM 2013的共同程序委员会主席、IEEE ICDM 2015的共同大会主席，以及ACM KDD-2018的研究专题程序委员会主席。在人才培养方面，熊辉教授指导的大多数博士毕业生均成为美国知名大学TENURE-TRACK教授，包括田纳西大学(University of Tennessee-Knoxville)、亚利桑那大学(University of Arizona)、纽约州立大学石溪分校(Stony Brook University、中佛罗里达大学（University of Central Florida）、乔治梅森大学(George Mason University、香港城市大学、肯萨斯大学(University of Kansas)、和欧洲高等商学院(ESCP Business School – Paris)。

张华平，中国人工智能学会多语种智能信息处理专委会秘书长，北京理工大学副教授，博士，研究生导师，知名汉语分词系统ICTCLAS创始人，大数据搜索与挖掘实验室主任。研究方向为：大数据搜索与挖掘、自然语言处理、信息检索与信息安全。张华平作为课题组长主持开发了国家自然科学基金、863、973、242等科研课题十余项，曾先后获得2016年度新疆自治区科技进步奖二等奖，2010年度钱伟长中文信息处理科学技术奖一等奖。发表《大数据智能分析》、《大数据搜索与挖掘》、《大数据大家谈》等专著5部。
